Indian Philosophy on Consciousness (vedas)

Image
I have been reading about Indian Philosophy for a few days now. while reading , the introduction of Consciousness, Brahman and Atman comes again and again. In the context of all three terms, one word is used repeatedly i.e सत चित आनंद। Sat Chit Anand. ( Truth - consciousness -bliss) As we know that we are conscious creatures in nature. But i was wondering... What happens when someone is in coma?? Yes , every wild thought in my head starts with   “i was wondering ”and from there on its just chaos.. So let's just wonder and wander around indian philosophy ( vedas on consciousness)  As we know medically, ‘A coma is a prolonged state of unconsciousness. During a coma, a person is unresponsive to his or her environment. The person is alive and looks like he or she is sleeping. However, unlike in a deep sleep, the person cannot be awakened by any stimulation, including pain. With these conditions some questions in my head popped up like popcorns. Is Life Consciousne...

Abyss .

Just wondering , Why do people have to be this much lonely? What's the point of it all? Millions of people in this world, all of them yearning, looking to others to satisfy them, yet isolating themselves. Why? Was the earth put here just to nourish human loneliness?  I usually try to build a fence around the fatal emptiness inside me,  i had to create a sunny person in me . But if you peeled away the ornamental egos that i had built, there was only a void of nothingness and the intense thirst of being sad came with it. Though i tried to forget it, the nothingness would visit me periodically -by the night , in rainy evening     or any natural dull setting in the nature. Even if i  somehow managed to escape from this cage, i found myself just in another, a larger one. In a sense, I’m the one who ruined me: I did it myself. Sometimes i think that people’s hearts are like deep wells. Nobody knows what’s at the bottom. All you can do is only imagine ...

Anosmia and Ageusia.

Image
Anosmia and Ageusia are maybe the two new word additions to your daily vocabulary. OR maybe they have not made it to your  dictionary yet.  But soon they will and if they don't.  Don't  you worry. You will definitely hear about them from your surrounding fellows. Although  i am Agnostic in person , but I will still pray for you that, they will never make into your personal dictionary. You must be wondering , what's the deal with this guy. Why is he blabbering about these new fancy terms . Well they are not fancy any more, these are the terms which are  verified and also considered by WHO as one of the CoVid symptoms. Which we all known as the LOSS OF TASTE (Ageusia) and LOSS OF SMELL (Anosmia) these days. Yes you read it right.  Loss of taste  and Loss of smell do have a scientific term and particular name in medical science.   You know you can't underestimate medical science these days. They know almost every bit of your syste...

It is Imperative that we evolve ourselves. ( A World without Discrimination)

Image
In our younger days it never occurred to us to maintain a distance from people who do not “fit in”. At four years of age, we knew all were equal. It is absurd to think that those who stay outside the borders of society should be discriminated against.   But now , we live in a world where we get laughed at for saying the wrong answer in class, where dressing in a certain way attracts stares, where if you don't fit in the "in crowd”, you are deemed a failure, where if your grades are poor, you are called dull, and where we are expected to live up to other people's expectations.  We live in a society that will look you up and down before looking into your eyes. Even without realising, we manage to drag those who don't meet the expectations of society into depression and mental agony. We are not born with the urge to discriminate, but it is something thay has been engraved into our brains at a fragile age. No one is born to hate another for the colour of skin, ...

whether you ‘LIKE’ it or Not

To Instagram, or not to Instagram, that is the Question. “The desert looks good but is it Instagram-able?”   “ Am I being obtuse by not raising my voice against this highly relevant social issue when everyone has put up a story about it?” “ My feed is flooded with Deepavali pictures; am I sticking out by not sharing mine?” If you are familiar with any social media, these questions may have resonated with you. I am one of the millennials, broadly categorised as Social Media-Obsessed and Attention-Craving Species, always choosing instant pleasure over long term benefits. Social media has touched every aspect of our lives, from socializing to social issues to shopping.      The  beauty and the terror of social media lie in the fact that every Tom, Dick and Harry can have an account and hence, a voice.         We live in Democracies, Tyrannies or Facist-nations- disguised-as-democracies,  but almost none of us is exempt from th...

Stairically Filthy.

Image
Dear , Trump-chachaa You do know we adore you, our loyalties are with you. After all, when you attended our do in Houston, did we not ask our NRI brothers to vote for you? And when you came here and spoke so eloquently about   Swami Vivekamunnund and Veerat kooli , did we not cheer you loudly? There was much hugging and hand-pumping, remember? It was all good . Then you had to spoil it by saying India's air is Filthy. I think you come to this hasty conclusion based on our ranking, 179 out of 180, according to some dubious air quality study. That kind of short-sighted evaluation by western “scholars” completely ignore our pre-eminent culture and its inherent wisdom. We know that our air is thick with unbreathable particulate matter. What your tiny Western eyes perceive as air pollution is our 12, 000-year-old tradition of making our air suitable for the smooth take off, comfortable flight and Glitch-free landings of our Pushpaka vimanams. Anyone who has read sage ...

Rape - बलात्कार - The Culture within.

Image
Once again, the Rape buzz is everywhere. Let's try to understand  this unfortunate part of our existence. What it is and How it flourished in our society.?  Starting with the definition,  Let's see what its definition says,  By the way its our irony that we actually have defination for it. Rape culture is an environment or a culture in which rape and sexual violence is normalized due to the societal attitudes and actions about gender and sexuality I'll be talking some direct societal facts, and  No shit around feminism or meninism.  Actually ,The nature of such a culture in India has to be viewed through the lens of Intersectionality. And by the lens of intersectionality, i meant that  The already known fact to us that the Indian patriarchy is Brahmanical in nature and interacts with the systemic biases of society, similarly the rape culture in India also exists within the same setting.  Its a fact and tragedy of our society that, As c...
